The Campbell River Board of Education regularly meets throughout the school year. Below is a summary of the highlights from the September 15, 2026 public meeting.
2026 School Trustee Election
On October 17, 2026 voters in BC will elect mayors, councilors, area directors, school trustees and others to fill four-year terms on municipal councils, regional district boards, school boards, and other public organizations.

School Board Trustee Candidates Debate
7:00 PM - 9:00 PMEvent DetailsSchool Board Trustee Candidates Debate 1220 Shoppers Row, Campbell River, BC V9W 2C8, Canada 7:00 PM - 9:00 PMCommunity EventThe Campbell River & District Chamber of Commerce, Campbell River Mirror and the Tidemark Theatre Society are co-hosting the trustee candidates debate for those running for a seat on the School District 72 Board of Education. Seating is on a first come first serve basis or you can watch the live stream on the Tidemark Theatre website.
The public are invited to send their questions to exdir@campbellriverchamber.ca.
Doors open at 6:30 p.m. - debates will run from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m.

Learning, reflection and community connection. 🧡 Today, students across SD72 recognized Orange Shirt Day through assemblies, learning activities and conversations about the history and ongoing impacts of residential schools. Several schools, like Georgia Park Elementary, ended their assembly with a community walk to learn and reflect together. These moments help students deepen their understanding of truth and reconciliation while building empathy, respect and a stronger sense of community. #CRSD72 #OrangeShirtDay #TruthAndReconciliation
Supporting a great cause, one scoop at a time. 🍦 Several SD72 schools recently welcomed the Cops for Cancer Tour de Rock riders, including Pinecrest Elementary. Pinecrest students organized an ice cream fundraiser and raised $500 to support Tour de Rock and families affected by cancer. The event gave students an opportunity to show leadership, generosity, and the power of working together for their community. Thank you to everyone who helped make the Tour de Rock school visits such a meaningful experience.💕 #CRSD72 #CommunityConnection #StudentLeadership
