Vaping Information Session for Youth
7:00 PM - 8:30 PMEvent DetailsGeneralIn partnership with Health Canada, QuitNow is hosting 'I Quit For Me', a series of sessions for youth ages 13-18 who would like to stop vaping or smoking. The sessions will focus on health risks of nicotine, creating a support plan, and healthy ways to manage stress. Sessions are 45-minutes on Zoom and run every Tuesday at 7 p.m. from February 3 to March 3, 2026. Please register in advance to secure a spot.

Community EventTimberline Musical Theatre is proud to present BIG FISH, based on the celebrated novel by Daniel Wallace and the acclaimed film directed by Tim Burton. BIG FISH is a fantastical, heartwarming musical that follows the life of Edward Bloom, a traveling salesman whose larger-than-life stories captivate everyone around him—especially his loving wife, Sandra. But their son, Will, about to become a father himself, is determined to uncover the truth behind his father’s epic tales. As Will embarks on a journey to understand the man behind the myth, BIG FISH explores the power of storytelling, family bonds, and the search for identity.
Shows will run March 6-7 and March 12-14 at 7 p.m. with a 2 p.m. matinee on March 8. Tickets are $15 for students/seniors and $18 for adults. Purchase online through the link attached.

🏀🐊 They did it! The Southgate Grade 8 girls are North Island Basketball champions! The Gators edged out Alberni District Secondary School in a thrilling final, winning 29 to 27 on Friday evening. It was a tight game right to the buzzer, with strong defence, smart plays and true team effort on full display. We are proud of this group for their hard work, teamwork and sportsmanship all season. Pink Shirt Day is this Wednesday, February 25. 💗 This day supports our ongoing work to build safe, caring and inclusive learning environments for all students. Schools across the district will mark the day in ways that reflect their students and communities. Activities will look different from school to school. Cedar Elementary has been feeling the Olympic spirit this week 🏅 Students have been curling, racing in classroom bobsled events and even designing their own Olympic torches. To kick things off, they “flew” to Italy with handmade passports, assigned seats and a very official flight attendant guiding the way ✈️ It has been such a creative way to build excitement, teamwork and school spirit.
